Valheim 1.0 Deep North: get your server ready for the September 9 launch
On September 9, 2026, Valheim leaves early access with version 1.0 and its tenth and final biome, the Deep North. After more than two years in early access, it's the Valheim event of the year: a simultaneous launch on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, full crossplay across every platform, 50+ new achievements — and a massive player surge to go with it. The perfect moment to start a persistent world with your friends.
What's coming with the Deep North
The final biome awaits with its abandoned villages, Gammeltrolls and the underground Elakingar. On the gear side: Nord axes and greatswords, bows, a giant round shield, the Frostfire crossbow, an unlimited-use grappling hook, the Winding Tunnels dungeons and new mage staves (lightning, defense, summoning).
Note: the game's price goes from $19.99 to $29.99 on September 9 (free for those who already own it). In other words, a wave of new and returning players will show up at the same time — all looking for somewhere to host their world.
Why a dedicated server instead of hosting locally?
You can host from your own PC, but the catch is well known: when the host logs off, the world stops. On a dedicated server, your Valheim lives 24/7: your friends connect whenever they want, in crossplay from PC, Xbox, PS5 or Switch 2, and nobody depends on anyone's PC.
- Persistent 24/7 world — your builds and progress keep going even while you sleep;
- Day-one crossplay — everyone joins the same world, whatever their console;
- Stable performance — dedicated RAM handles an explored, built-up world, not your PC.
What specs for 1.0?
Valheim stays light, but a world grown over time needs more memory than a fresh one. Our recommendations, matching our plans:
- 4 GB RAM — perfect for 1 to 4 players, or a young world;
- 6 GB RAM — the comfortable setup for 10 players on an explored, built world;
- 8 GB RAM — headroom for large groups and very active servers.
No official mod support at 1.0: community modding (BepInEx, Jotunn) continues exactly as today.
Launch your server in 2 minutes
At Game-Servers everything is automated: pick your plan and your Valheim server boots in under two minutes, ready for 1.0 (updates apply automatically on launch day). You get the IP address and port to share, and the panel gives you the console, file access and above all automatic backups with one-click restore — because losing a village you built for weeks to a crash is not an option.
Try it risk-free before September 9
Two ways to start: the free 24-hour trial with no credit card, or the 3-day weekend pass at €3.99 — perfect to prepare your world with friends before launch. After that, subscriptions start at €5.99/month with no commitment.
All the details are on our Valheim server page.
